Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 October 2026

These terms cover buying and using Shorts Studio (“the App”), a desktop application for Mac and Windows that creates vertical short-form videos. Shorts Studio is developed and sold by Petr Filishin, an individual sole proprietor (“we”, “us”). By buying, installing or using the App you agree to these terms.

1. What the App is

Shorts Studio runs on your own computer. It writes a script, generates images and video clips with AI models, adds voices, subtitles and music, and renders a finished 9:16 MP4. The AI models run on Replicate through your own Replicate account. The App does not post anything for you: you publish your videos yourself.

2. Buying the App

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues your invoice; its Buyer Terms apply to the purchase itself. The price is a single payment; there is no subscription.

3. Your license

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on computers you own or use yourself.

4. Your Replicate account and its costs

The App comes without API keys. You connect your own Replicate token, and Replicate bills you directly for every generation, at its own prices. Those prices are set by Replicate and the model providers and can change. We do not receive any part of them and are not responsible for charges on your Replicate account. You can also add your own provider keys (for example a Google AI key for reference analysis); you are responsible for those accounts and for following each provider’s terms.

5. AI-generated content

Scripts, images, voices and videos are produced by third-party AI models from your prompts. Review everything before you publish it. We make no promise that output is accurate, original or suitable for a particular platform, and you are responsible for making sure what you publish follows that platform’s rules and the law.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the App to create content that is unlawful, infringes someone else’s rights, impersonates real people or brands, or breaks the rules of the platforms where you publish it.

7. Updates and support

Your purchase includes all 1.x updates. A future major version may be offered as a separate paid upgrade. We help you get the App installed and running; see the refund policy for what happens if it won’t run on your computer.

8. No warranty; limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue, charges from AI providers, suspended accounts or removed content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes do not take away a license you have already bought.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms or the App: write to [email protected]. For anything about a payment or an invoice you can also contact Paddle at paddle.net.
